Mars / MEI TRC-6000 Coin Changer
The Mars TRC-6000 is a 3-tube MicroMech coin changer for electronic multi-price vending machines that use a 12-pin 115V interface. It is the line-voltage member of the TRC family (IntelliTrac / MicroMech). No longer made new, but still a common rebuild in older snack and drink cabinets.
What it does
- Accepts U.S. nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar coins (SBA / Sacagawea)
- Pays out nickels, dimes, and quarters from three self-loading tubes
- Dollar-coin accept/reject by switch
- High or low quarter inventory by switch (about 69 quarters vs. about 6)
- Can be field-tuned for Canadian coins (not the $2)
- Intelligent coin tracking to hold acceptance over the life of the unit
- Modular acceptor/gate for service and jam clearing
Electrical and interface
- Voltage: 115V DC ±20V (commonly listed as 110/115/117V)
- Plug: 12-pin MicroMech
- About 0.10 A continuous; about 1.2 A peak while dispensing
- Vend prices and number of prices are set by the machine controller, not the changer
Do not confuse with
- TRC-6010 — same 3-tube MicroMech, 24V, 12-pin
- TRC-6010XV — 24V, 15-pin
- TRC-6512 — MDB, 34V, 6-pin
- TRC-6800 — single-price 115V AC soda changer
A 6000 will not run on a 24V or MDB harness.
Typical replacements Direct swap for other 12-pin 115V MicroMech changers in the same channel, including Mars MC-5000 class units and Coinco 9300-L style 115V 12-pin mechs when the cabinet wiring matches.
