Dixie Narco / Crane Defrost Thermostat
Brand-new defrost thermostat for Dixie Narco and Crane soda machine refrigeration systems.
What it does
Senses evaporator temperature and prevents the coil from freezing solid. When the evaporator gets too cold, it interrupts the refrigeration cycle so ice can melt, then allows cooling to resume.
Important: This is a defrost control only. It does not set or control the product compartment temperature (that is the job of the cold control / thermostat).
Common symptoms of a failed defrost thermostat
- Evaporator freezes over completely and airflow stops
- Machine runs but product stays warm because the coil is iced
- Refrigeration cycles irregularly or stays off longer than normal
Install notes Disconnect power before service. Mount the new thermostat in the original location and carefully position the sensing bulb on the evaporator in the same manner as the old one (do not kink the capillary). Reconnect the wiring and confirm the unit can complete a normal cool-down and defrost cycle with the door closed.
