Royal Vendors RVV500 Compressor Cooling Unit — Complete Refrigeration Deck
Complete compressor cooling deck for Royal Vendors glass-front cold drink machines, including the RVV500 (Royal Vision Vendor). This is the sealed refrigeration unit that sits in the bottom of the cabinet and cools product in the merchandiser.
Fits / used on:
- Royal Vendors RVV500 (Vision Vendor / RVRVV-500)
- Also commonly used on related Royal glass-front models RVV300 and RVV700
- Refrigeration deck model typically marked 8000V
- Super 1/3 HP compressor class (also described as Super 0.25 kW on some plates)
- Common refrigerant: R134a (some later units use R290 — match the tag on your old deck)
What it is: A sealed cooling deck assembly: hermetic compressor, condenser, evaporator section, dryer, and related refrigeration components mounted as one serviceable unit. Royal designed these machines so the refrigeration system can be serviced/replaced from the bottom without pulling the lower shelf.
Typical specs on RVV500 machines:
- 115 VAC, 60 Hz (US) or 230 VAC, 50 Hz (export)
- Machine rating often around 9 amps
- Charge commonly about 8 oz R134a (confirm the refrigeration serial plate on the kick plate)
Common reason to replace: Machine vends but product is warm; compressor clicks on/off and will not stay running; “No Pull Down” error; leak / low charge; failed expansion valve; seized or shorted compressor; condenser fan or start components taking the unit out.
Install notes:
- Disconnect power first.
- This is a sealed system — do not cut or tap lines if you need to keep warranty/charge intact.
- Match voltage, refrigerant type, and deck style to the unit you are removing.
- After install, close the door and allow the normal start delay (about 5–7 minutes) before judging whether the compressor pulls down.
- Confirm condenser airflow and a clean coil; a good deck will not cool well with a plugged condenser.
