Description
MEI VN2712 Bill Validator (Cashflow VN2700 Series)
The MEI VN2712 is a 24V MDB vending bill acceptor in the VN2700 / Cashflow line. It uses the compact soda-style bezel with flashing green LED arrows. Compared with the VN2512, the “7” means it is built for $1–$20 vending, not $1–$5 only.
Model breakdown: VN = vending, 2 = Series 2000 platform, 7 = vending $1–$20, 1 = compact bezel, 2 = 24V.
What it does
- Accepts U.S. $1, $5, $10, and $20 (including later $5 designs when the unit is updated)
- Four-way bill feed (face up or down, either direction)
- High first-pass acceptance of worn, wrinkled, faded, damp, dirty, limp, folded, or torn notes
- Improved sensors and security versus the older VN2500 series
- Compact soda-style bezel with high-visibility flashing LEDs
- Flashport — firmware can be updated for currency changes
- Recycler-ready and MEI card-reader ready (plug-and-play path to a VNR recycler or MEI media bezel)
Electrical and interface
- Voltage: 24V (often listed as 24/34V)
- Interface: MDB only
- Do not power this unit on a pulse / non-MDB 24V harness. That can damage the board. Use an AE-series unit if you need pulse.
Typical configuration
- Bezel: compact soda style (#1 mask)
- Stacker: commonly upstack; U3 = 300 notes, U5 = 500 notes
- Works with any MDB coin changer
- Intended for MDB drink and snack cabinets (Dixie-Narco, Vendo, Royal, Crane/National, AP, and similar)
How it compares
- VN2512: same compact 24V bezel, but $1–$5 class and often pulse/serial as well as MDB
- VN2702: same $1–$20 MDB platform with the smaller VFM/snack-style bezel
- VN2712: compact bezel + $1–$20 + recycler/card-reader ready
